No tickets required… A community inspired, grassroots blues event.
David Owen is a gifted acoustic blues musician who accompanies himself on guitar and harmonica. From Ottawa, Owen says, “I learned to sing the blues as a baby crying for milk.”
Owen’s career was originally built up in Ottawa, Toronto and other parts of Canada starting in the ‘80s. In 2007, the performer took a sabbatical, spending time with family and songwriting. On the album Livin’ Life, Gary Kendall worked with Owen as producer, veteran bassist Alec Fraser did bottom end and percussion; and the talented, multi-instrumentalist Jimmy Bowskill rounded out the studio group, providing violin, viola, mandolin, pedal steel and electric guitar. The result is an original and unique set of rough-and-ready blues and roots music. You’ll get a taste at the CWBF festival.
